Two Hospitals Served

We were able to create over 75 completed kits and many more partial kits. The "Daxton boxes" were donated to two hospitals. YAY!!! They were very well accepted.

I went with my manager around the hospital and gave a little inservice on how to use them. We went to the PICU and Peds ED. The doctors and nurses were really excited about using them.... well excited that they at least had something to use if needed.

Hopefully our efforts will reach across the valley. But we can only do it with your help! I have pondered and wondered how I would deal with Daxton's birthday (coming up here on May 31)every year and have decided that each year I would put together 10 kits. If you would like to help in this effort you can click here and enter daxtonbox@gmail.com. We have a separate account for him. :)

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!! And thank you from the families who will recieve them in the future. As devastating as it is to lose a child, sometimes it is nice to know that someone was thinking about you enough to care.

  1. I read your story from a link on one of my friends blogs that knows you and posted about it. I have followed since. It has really touched me, as I have an 11 month old son, and it really helps me to be a better mom, to better love and care and charish him. Thank you. I think it is wonderful that you have started these daxtonboxes. I would really like to donate home sewn blankets. I have really gotten a bug lately for sewing baby items and would love to donate anything you need for these boxes. If you would like to contact me about this my email is traci_lou_02@hotmail.com

  2. Thank you for sharing your story. It has touched me greatly. Daxton was an angel. I love those blue eyes. Someone told me about your blog when I made a blog post about a family who was grieving the loss of their child. They donate bows to the hospital in her memory. I was requesting that people help me make bows to send. You can visit my blog to get more information.

  4. Hi Brittany,
    I am a Respiratory Therapist at BBMC in Mesa. Our department wanted to have something that we could give to people that have lost a child. We have been working on plans for a few months. Then we heard about your Daxton Angel Boxes from the people of Banner Gateway. We would like your permission to use your picture of Daxton and your message and also give Daxton Boxes in our ER here at BBMC from the Cardiopulmonary dept. Your story has touched our hearts. What a great thing you have started from something so tragic. You can email me at kcwiles@msn.com

  6. Britney, My mom ran across a blog of a member in (W Jordan I think) who just lost her baby girl to drowning. I know you have a support group you do so I figured I'd pass this on to you. I don't know her at all, but I'm sure she could use some support from others who have also lost a child. {{HUGS}}
